Would you recommend purchasing and ABS (or equivalent) backpack?
> The use of an ABS backpack increases your chance of survival in case of an avalanche. An aditional advantage is that it also increases the chance you'll be able to help your companions. We think this is a sound investment.
What should I consider, when buying an avalanche transceiver?
> Don't compromise when your life's at stake. We recommend buying the best product available. There a several good brands out there with only minor differences. A few things you need to look at are:
-Three antennas for optimal reception.
-A marking function that enables you to search for more than one person.
-Digital and analog signal reception.

Do I need touring boots for climbing with skins?
> For short hikes with touring bindings and skins, alpine boots will do. This may be less than perfect for climbing but it is perfect for the descent. And that's what really matters, isn't it? Nowadays, several brands have developed hybrid freeride/touring boots that can offer a solution as well.
