Gear

Good gear gets you a long way. Our advice depends on the activity you wish to undertake and the limitations of your skill and style. Bringing skis you’ve never used can be cause for a nasty surprise.

For our technical programs such as Skills & Style and Bump & Jump, we suggest you take good allround skis: nose height to body length with a wide tip and at least 80mm underfoot. These skis can be used for all purposes and challenge you to adapt your techniques to the situation. Allround skis allow you to ski on and off the piste, best some moguls and jump a kicker with ease.

For Lift & Ride and Fly & Ride programs, long and wide would be the way to go. So leave your toothpicks at home. For beginning freeriders, body length, 90mm underfoot skis would be a good start. A width over 110mm underfoot has its advantages but can cause trouble at the lower parts of descents. Freeride skis offer stability and float in the powder. Fitting bindings are the finishing touch. This makes freeride skis and boards the perfect tools to draw a few nice lines in the snow.

For Hike & Ride en Steep & Deep programs we advise a light freeride ski with a heavier tourbinding. Of course with skins and crampons that fit. Touring boots are not necessary. It's all about the down! For boarders we advise a splitboard. Make sure that bindings, skins and crampons fit.
